Attendance & Loading Supervision
At Veritas, attendance is not a passive presence at the loading site.
It is direct operational involvement.
For every loading operation, a Veritas representative is physically present on site from the beginning of the operation through completion. Our objective is to maintain continuous visibility, respond immediately when circumstances change and represent our client’s interests where the operation is actually taking place.
Present From the Beginning
We believe that many operational problems can be resolved quickly when the right people are present and able to make decisions.
For this reason, Veritas maintains direct attendance at loading operations rather than relying solely on reports received from third parties.
Our team follows the operation on site, communicates directly with the vessel, supplier, agent, terminal and other relevant parties, and keeps the client informed throughout the process.
At the start of every loading operation, a member of Veritas senior management is directly involved alongside our on-site representative.
This gives us the ability to shorten communication lines, take initiative where appropriate and resolve issues before they develop into more serious operational or commercial problems.
Direct Access to Decision-Makers
When time matters, information should not move through unnecessary layers.
At the loading site, we establish direct communication with the people who have the authority to act.
Whether the issue concerns cargo readiness, vessel operations, documentation, loading sequence, quality, timing or an unexpected operational development, our priority is to understand the situation quickly and coordinate the most practical solution.
Our role is always to act in the commercial interest of our client.
Continuous Loading Supervision
Our attendance continues throughout the entire loading operation.
We monitor the progress of loading, follow operational developments and maintain communication with all relevant parties until completion.
This continuous presence gives us a clearer understanding of what is actually happening on site and allows us to distinguish between routine operational developments and issues that may require immediate intervention.
We do not believe that supervision should begin only when a problem occurs.
It should be continuous from the start.
Quality Control at Source
For mineral and bulk cargoes in particular, loading supervision also includes close attention to the condition and apparent quality of the cargo.
Our team observes the cargo during loading and reports any visible inconsistency or concern immediately.
When required, we also coordinate sampling before loading so that the client has the opportunity to verify the cargo before shipment.
Multiple samples can be taken from available stock to provide a more representative view of the material rather than relying on a single point sample.
Where requested, samples can be forwarded directly to the client or submitted for laboratory analysis.
Independent Laboratory Analysis
When additional verification is required, Veritas can coordinate laboratory testing through qualified institutions, including Istanbul Technical University laboratories where appropriate.
Test results are shared transparently with the client.
This allows quality discussions to be based on objective data rather than assumptions.
Our purpose is not to replace independent surveyors or certified inspection companies where formal certification is required.
Our purpose is to give the client an additional level of operational visibility and control before and during loading.
Acting as the Client’s Eyes on Site
Our clients cannot always be physically present at every loading location.
We can.
Our role is to observe, question, verify and report on their behalf.
If something does not look right, we raise it.
If a decision is required, we communicate it immediately.
If an operational alternative can protect the client from unnecessary delay, cost or quality risk, we bring it forward.
This is what attendance means to us.
Not simply being present.
Being responsible for what happens while we are there.
From First Sample to Final Completion
Our involvement can begin before the vessel arrives.
Where required, we inspect available stock, coordinate sampling, arrange testing, review loading readiness and maintain contact with the supplier and local parties in advance.
Once loading begins, we remain involved until completion and provide the client with continuous operational feedback.
For Veritas, physical presence remains one of the most effective forms of risk management.
Because there is a significant difference between receiving information about an operation and actually being there to understand it.
