Minerals & Industrial Materials
Minerals and industrial raw materials are one of Veritas’ established areas of trading expertise.
Over the years, we have developed close relationships with producers, quarries, processors and logistics providers, allowing us to manage both bulk and packaged mineral transactions from source to destination.
Our experience is particularly strong in calcite and dolomite movements, while we also handle micronised and granulated mineral products depending on client requirements.
Calcite
Calcite is one of the principal products within our mineral trading activity.
We regularly manage bulk calcite shipments, particularly for Black Sea destinations, including Ukraine.
Our role can cover the complete commercial and operational process, including supplier coordination, stock availability, sampling, quality verification, chartering, freight negotiation, loading supervision, documentation and CFR delivery.
Because ocean freight represents a significant part of the final cost of bulk mineral trades, chartering and vessel selection are managed as an integral part of the commercial transaction rather than as a separate logistics function.
Dolomite
Veritas also manages selected dolomite shipments, including bulk movements to markets such as Bulgaria and Romania.
As with calcite, our focus is not simply on supplying the material.
We coordinate the complete transaction, including sourcing, commercial negotiation, loading arrangements, transport and operational follow-up.
Micronised and Granulated Minerals
Depending on the application and client specification, we can also source and manage micronised or granulated mineral products.
These products may be supplied in bags or big bags and transported through containerised, road or other suitable logistics solutions.
The sourcing and logistics structure is designed according to the technical specification, volume and final destination.
Sampling and Quality Verification
Quality control begins before loading.
Where appropriate, Veritas coordinates sampling from available stock and can provide multiple samples to obtain a more representative view of the material.
Samples can be forwarded directly to the client or submitted for independent laboratory analysis.
Where required, testing can also be coordinated through qualified institutions, including Istanbul Technical University laboratories when appropriate.
Test results are shared transparently with the client before commercial or loading decisions are finalised.
Direct Loading Supervision
For bulk mineral shipments, Veritas maintains physical attendance at the loading site.
Our personnel follow the operation from the beginning through completion, monitoring cargo condition, loading progress and communication between the supplier, vessel, agent and other relevant parties.
Senior management remains directly involved where required.
This physical presence allows us to identify quality or operational concerns immediately and take action before they become more significant commercial issues.
From Source to Destination
Our mineral trading capability combines several disciplines:
supplier selection, commercial negotiation, quality control, sampling, laboratory testing, logistics, chartering, loading supervision and final delivery.
For the client, these are not separate services.
They form one transaction.
Our objective is to maintain control of that transaction from the point where the material is selected until it reaches the agreed destination.
